St. Matthew's offers a Food Pantry, available to residents of Duval County. Food is distributed on Saturdays, between the hours of 8 and 9 a.m. only. Food is provided from the portico adjacent to the church gym, located at the rear of the church. As a portion of the food comes from the USDA, recipients must fill out and sign paperwork certifying they fall below specified income levels, or meet other criterion set up by the USDA.
No smoking is permitted inside the church or around church entrances. Persons who are impaired by alcohol and/or drugs will not be served. Littering of the church property will not be tolerated. All persons entering the property of St. Matthew's are asked to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate for a house of worship. We reserve the right to refuse to serve persons who fail to follow these rules.
We welcome support from other congregations. This can be in the form of volunteers working at the pantry on Saturday mornings, financial contributions, canned/boxed food, medium sized boxes, paper bags and cloth food carry bags. To contact us, please e-mail: FoodPantry@stmatthewsjax.org
