Pray that we will find words to share our faith in Jesus Christ and our understanding of Scripture with one another and the world, while also trusting that the Holy Spirit works to deepen our faith and enrich our knowledge of God’s word and ways.

Many of you know that I’m addicted to The Today Show. Watching it in the morning gets me on board with what’s happened while I was sleeping, it lets me wake up slowly, and often, the interviews get me thinking in new and different ways.
This morning Ken Burns was interviewed. He is known, of course, for his documentaries about our history, the premier example being the series on the Civil War. When asked about “this moment in time” and if he thought we would be changed as a nation and as a culture, his first response was “human nature is human nature.” The answer seemed a little discouraging at first, but he went on to say that this is a time when we4 can reset and remember the best about ourselves as we refocus on what it means to be community.
To me, that says opportunity. Opportunity especially for us as “church.” We are a Christ-centered, Spirit led and created community that is entrusted with the gift of the gospel – that message of unending and unlimited love of God. Share the good news today!
