FAQ’s

Holy Baptism:

Through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, we are incorporated into Christ’s body, the church in heaven and on earth, receive the promise of forgiveness and the hope of everlasting life. Baptisms are scheduled through the church office. Prior to a baptism, parents of children meet with the pastor either in the home or in the church for pre-baptismal conversation and instruction. In baptism, we become members of the church, regardless of age, and are welcomed into the congregation’s life.

Holy Communion:

The Service of Holy Communion is central to our worship. In Holy Communion we believe that the risen Christ is present with us in his true body and blood in, with and under the forms of bread and wine for the assurance of forgiveness and for the strengthening of faith. Christians sharing in this faith and desiring communion with the Lord and his church are invited to the Lord’s Table. Those who have questions about receiving are welcomed to speak with the pastor.

Confirmation:

Confirmation is a two year program for 6th through 8th grade students. The confirmation classes are held Sundays 10:30 am to 11:30 am in the conference room off the fellowship hall.

Weddings:

Weddings are scheduled through the church office. Couples are expected to contact the office at least six months in advance of the proposed wedding date.

Funerals:

Funerals are rites of the church. Services are held in funeral homes or in the sanctuary, and pastoral care and support are offered to the bereaved.

Individual Confession & Forgiveness:

A time for reflection and intentional conversation in search of healing and forgiveness is available with the pastor. Appointments can be made through the church office.

Pastoral Care:

Pastoral care is offered by the visitation pastor, and our prayer and healing ministries are offered to person(s) in need. Pastoral visits are made regularly to those homebound or hospitalized. Please advise the parish office of persons in need of visitation.
