Give thanks for the Lutheran liturgy and worship practices that equip us for daily life, helping us to praise God, listen to God’s word and experience unity in the body of Christ.
Prayer Ventures, Living Lutheran, January 28, 2021
Though the way we “do” worship has changed during the pandemic, liturgy, from the Greek word leitourgeia, is still “the work of the people” not the “work of the pastor.” We
gather as the people of Christ’s church, to offer our “work” of praise and thanksgiving, to hear the word through scripture and preaching, and to celebrate the sacraments. Through our worship, shaped by the liturgy, we grow in faith as we are “united in one time and place with the people of God in every time and place.”
