Pray that we will be filled with and led by the Spirit so that our actions, words and faith reveal who we are ― children of God, followers of Christ.

¹See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Come, Holy Spirit, and kindle in us the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created

and you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who instructs the hearts of the faithful,

Grant that by the same Holy Spirit

We may be truly wise

And ever rejoice in his consolations. Amen.

In baptism our gracious heavenly Father frees us from sin and death by joining us to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are born children of a fallen humanity; by water and the Holy Spirit we are reborn children of God and made members of the church, the body of Christ. Living with Christ and in the communion of saints, we grow in faith, love, and obedience to the will of God.
