Hi all,

Thanks abound for everyone who helped and contributed to support Micah’s Backpack this year.

The children of Lake Lucina are so very grateful to the congregation of St. Matthew’s for your support throughout this school year. You all played a part in helping to feed the children identified as being food insecure. Whether you contributed funds to purchase food, shopped for the items, packed or delivered the food to the children, YOU are a hero to these children. The children will not forget that St. Matthew’s also provided both a Thanksgiving and a Christmas meal and even some toys for the children. When the pandemic struck, the usual ways of helping these children were challenging. Vulnerable adults could not shop for the food and food quantities were limited for those who could shop. Again, St. Matthew’s stuck by these children and contributed additional funds to be able to purchase gift cards for the families to use for food shopping. Please know that at a time when we celebrate our healthcare heroes in this country, the children of Lake Lucina celebrate the heroes of St. Matthew’s as well.
